Elsevier's "Pharmacological Research" has published an article on ivermectin this January, Ivermectin, a potential anticancer drug derived from an antiparasitic drug .

Ivermectin has powerful antitumor effects, including the inhibition of proliferation, metastasis, and angiogenic activity, in a variety of cancer cells. This may be related to the regulation of multiple signaling pathways by ivermectin through PAK1 kinase. On the other hand, ivermectin promotes programmed cancer cell death, including apoptosis, autophagy and pyroptosis. Ivermectin induces apoptosis and autophagy is mutually regulated. Interestingly, ivermectin can also inhibit tumor stem cells and reverse multidrug resistance and exerts the optimal effect when used in combination with other chemotherapy drugs.

The European Society of Cardiology's Heart Failure journal is reporting that aspirin use is associated with increased risk of heart failure in certain "at risk" categories.

Aspirin use is associated with an increased risk of HF in patients receiving aspirin with or without a previous history of CVDs. In the absence of conclusive trial evidence, our observations suggest that aspirin should be prescribed with caution in patients at risk of HF or having HF.

The Gateway Pundit discusses science that cannot be published because it runs contrary to the media narrative that's bought and paid for. The study cited has only published its abstract, which makes all this ado a little peculiar, but the realities behind the corporate-sponsored science explained by the news article is worth a read.

Peter Doshi, associate editor of BMJ (what was once the British Medical Journal, a very highly-regarded organization) writes in October 2020: Will covid-19 vaccines save lives? Current trials aren’t designed to tell us.

None of the trials currently under way are designed to detect a reduction in any serious outcome such as hospital admissions, use of intensive care, or deaths. Nor are the vaccines being studied to determine whether they can interrupt transmission of the virus.
Additionally, BMJ has published a lay article summarizing the journal article more simply.

The Federalist is reporting on a Finnish case where authorities are claiming the Bible to be hate speech.

Rasanen and Pohjola are being charged with “hate speech” for respectively writing and publishing a 24-page 2004 booklet that explains basic Christian theology about sex and marriage, which reserves sex exclusively for within marriage, which can only consist of one man and one woman, for life. The Finnish prosecutor claims centuries-old Christian teachings about sex “incite hatred” and violate legal preferences for government-privileged identity groups.

Soft-launched new site-generation scripts. Currently generating this section, which is presently named "Web Log". Eventually, I will be splitting it in two: Update Log, for site updates, and Web Log, for web content. I've thought about naming the "Web Log" section "Link Farm". We'll see how I feel. Anyhow, the site-gen code should now be roughly at feature parity in terms of regressions, and there are a few neat new features additionally available, like individual post links and category browsing. There's no pagination in categories yet, so you'll have to deal with only a single page of content, but whatever. Done for the day.

Lots of the usual media handwringing and lies, but he does explain one particular instance of the vaccine changing your DNA that I had hitherto not considered. He lies about other scientists who come to conclusions he doesn't like.

Increased risk of infection with SARS-CoV-2 Beta, Gamma, and Delta variant compared to Alpha variant in vaccinated individuals - a preprint on medrxiv.

Here, we analyze 28,578 sequenced SARS-CoV-2 samples from individuals with known immune status obtained through national community testing in the Netherlands from March to August 2021. We find evidence for an increased risk of infection by the Beta (B.1.351), Gamma (P.1), or Delta (B.1.617.2) variants compared to the Alpha (B.1.1.7) variant after vaccination. No clear differences were found between vaccines. However, the effect was larger in the first 14-59 days after complete vaccination compared to 60 days and longer. In contrast to vaccine-induced immunity, no increased risk for reinfection with Beta, Gamma or Delta variants relative to Alpha variant was found in individuals with infection-induced immunity.
